Here is to all the hairy girls out there

Living with an excessive amount of body hair has its pros and cons. Sure, the hair on your head always has a bounce and seems to cause a lot of envious stares, but those stares turn into fear as their eyes fixate on the thin coat of black hairs that blanket the lower half of your legs. I have always been jealous of those girls that can go weeks without needing to shave. Needless to say, I am not one of those girls….in fact, my hair seems to control much more of my life than it should. Over the years, I have tried every form of hair removal such as tweezing, waxing, threading and lasers…

Here I have come up with the best solutions for removing that excess body hair that many of us have been searching for.

*PLEASE note that these solutions may work for me, but everyones has different hair and skin types. These options are just what works best for me.

1. Finishing Touch Facial Hair Remover

For that pesky peach fuzz and occasional black hairs

TouchEpilator

Pros

Completely pain free

Gets rid of all facial hair with no irritation, bumps, or redness

Affordable

Gentle to use everyday

Cons

Hair will eventually grow back

Time consuming (removes a small section of hair at a time)

2. Laser Hair Removal

For those black body hairs
Bodylaser Laserface
Pros

Cons

Very expensive

*while there are several options out there for at-home lazer hair removal, I personally believe that treatments are most effective when done by professionals

3. Razors…but choose wisely!

While razors get a bad rap with hairy girls like me, they also have been proven time after time to get the job done. I have learned to accept razors, but I have become very specific with my razor choices, which has made the biggest difference in my daily struggle.

The best razor option for the face:Facerazor

Pros

Exfoliates skin in addition to peach fuzz removal

Easy to do at home for instant results

Very cheap

Cons

Can damage skin if not performed properly

Hair will grow back and must be kept up with depending on how fast your hair grows

The best razor option for the body:

Gillette Fusion5 ProGlide Razor – while this is technically for men, I have found this razor to be the best for my coarse leg hair!

Razor

Fusion5

Pros

Great for sensitive skin prone to razor burn

Close shave makes for smooth legs

Cons

Need to keep up with it

The cost adds up fast (however, men’s razors are cheaper than women’s…not sure why)

*tip: change razor head after 2-3 uses for closest shave

I found this amazing website called Epilatorgirl.com which reviews hair removal devices and techniques thoroughly and may help to answer other questions you have regarding hair removal!

As technology is advancing, the removal of hair is only getting easier and providing us with better results. NO one should ever be ashamed of the hair on there body. If you choose to never buy a razor and let nature take its course, than I truly envy you. I have always been insecure of my body hair, but it only takes a little self confidence and acceptance to be comfortable in your own skin—stubble legs and all.
