Is it just me, or did summer fashion completely shift gears this month? June brought some of the most unexpected, fun, and surprisingly wearable trends we’ve seen in years. We are officially saying goodbye to the ultra-minimalist “quiet luxury” era and welcoming back color, texture, and a little bit of playful chaos.
I’ve been keeping a close eye on what the fashion girls are actually wearing out in the wild (and what’s going viral on my TikTok feed). Here is my complete June recap of the top fashion trends and fads of the month, and how I’m styling them for the rest of the summer.
1. The Return of the Flip Flop (But Make It Elevated)

I never thought I’d see the day, but the humble flip flop is officially the “It” shoe of Summer 2026. But we aren’t talking about the rubber ones you wore to the pool in middle school. The June version is all about elevated, chunky leather flip flops paired with tailored trousers or slip skirts.
It gives this incredibly chic, “I just threw this on” European vacation vibe. I’ve been living in a pair of chunky leather thong sandals that I found on Amazon, and they instantly make my basic linen pants look so much cooler.
2. Lace-Trimmed Everything

The romantic, feminine aesthetic is having a massive moment right now. Specifically: lace-trimmed shorts and camisoles. It’s a little bit vintage, a little bit sleepwear-as-daywear, and absolutely perfect for hot June days.
The key to pulling this off without looking like you’re wearing pajamas is the styling. I love pairing delicate lace-trim shorts with an oversized, structured button-down shirt and some chunky sneakers. It’s the perfect balance of soft and sporty.
3. Scarf Belts

This is my favorite styling hack of the month because it costs literally zero dollars if you already own a silk scarf. Instead of wearing scarves in our hair or around our necks, everyone is tying them through the belt loops of their vintage denim or wrapping them around the waist of a simple slip dress.
It adds such a beautiful pop of color and print to an otherwise basic outfit. If you don’t have one in your closet, I found a gorgeous large square silk scarf that works perfectly for this trend.
4. The White Midi Skirt

Move over, denim cutoffs. The crisp, white midi skirt was the undisputed uniform of June. Whether it’s poplin, linen, or a structured cotton, this piece is everywhere. It’s so much more comfortable than tight shorts when it’s 90 degrees outside, and it instantly makes you look put together.
I’ve been styling my white cotton midi skirt with simple ribbed tank tops, a colorful statement bag, and those elevated flip flops we talked about earlier. It’s the ultimate effortless summer uniform.
