If there is one thing I love more than a good fashion trend, it’s a beauty trend. June 2026 brought some of the most fun, playful, and glowy makeup looks we’ve seen in a long time. We are officially stepping away from the heavy, matte contouring of the past and embracing a much more effortless, “I just spent the day at the beach” aesthetic.
I’ve been testing out all the viral makeup and skincare trends that took over my feed this month. Here is my complete June recap of the top beauty trends and fads, and the ones I’m actually keeping in my makeup bag for the rest of the summer.
1. “Beach Skin” (The New Glass Skin)
Remember when we all wanted “glass skin”? Well, June upgraded that to “Beach Skin.” The goal here isn’t just to look moisturized; it’s to look almost glossy, wet, and incredibly luminous. It’s that exact glow you have after applying sunscreen and sitting by the ocean for an hour.
To achieve this without looking greasy, it’s all about skin prep. I’ve been layering the Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer under a very sheer skin tint, and then tapping a liquid highlighter on the high points of my face. It looks so healthy and radiant.
2. Watercolor Blush
Harsh blush lines are out. “Watercolor blush” is the technique that took over TikTok this month. Instead of applying one stark color to the apples of your cheeks, the trend involves blending two or three soft, sheer liquid blushes together and diffusing them up toward your temples.
It creates this beautiful, soft-focus flush that looks incredibly natural. I’ve been mixing two shades of the Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush (a soft pink and a warm peach) and blending them out with a damp beauty sponge. It’s foolproof and gorgeous.
3. Colored Mascara is Back
I know, I know—colored mascara sounds terrifying. But hear me out! June saw a massive spike in jewel-toned mascaras, specifically deep burgundy, navy blue, and forest green. It’s actually a brilliant trick for summer because it makes your eye color pop without the heaviness of black eyeliner.
A deep burgundy mascara makes green and hazel eyes look incredible, while navy blue makes the whites of your eyes look brighter. I picked up a burgundy mascara on Amazon on a whim, and I’ve worn it almost every day since. It’s subtle but so effective.
4. The “Soapy Brow” Evolution
We are finally letting our eyebrows breathe. The heavily drawn-in, blocky brow is officially retired. The new trend is the “soapy brow”—fluffy, brushed-up, and completely natural-looking. It’s the ultimate cool-girl aesthetic.
