The “Everything Shower” Has Evolved: Here is the 2026 Routine

If you are a girl on the internet, you already know what an “Everything Shower” is. It is the once-a-week reset where I wash my hair, treat my scalp, exfoliate, moisturize, and emerge feeling like a completely new person.

But my real 2026 everything shower routine looks a little different from the perfectly staged versions online. I am not using 15 random products just for the sake of it. I keep the steps intentional, use what I already own, and focus on the products that make the biggest difference for my hair, body, and skin.

These are my actual bathroom photos and the actual products in my rotation. You can find more of my beauty and body-care favorites on my Amazon Storefront.

Before I Start: I Make the Bathroom Feel Calm

A calm bathroom setup makes the routine feel restorative instead of rushed.

The easiest way to make an Everything Shower feel restorative instead of like another chore is to slow the room down first. I clear the counter, put my phone away, dim the lights, and light a candle. That tiny bit of atmosphere is what turns a long shower into a ritual I actually look forward to.

Step 1: I Start With Hair and Scalp Care

My wash-day shampoo and conditioner step.

Because this is my deeper wash day, hair comes first. I shampoo thoroughly, concentrate the product at my roots, and let the water carry it through the lengths instead of scrubbing the ends. My current wash-day pair is Olaplex No. 4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo followed by Olaplex No. 5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner.

A deeper hair-and-scalp treatment is the step that makes wash day feel complete.

When my hair needs more than regular conditioner, I swap in a deeper treatment. I work the J Beverly Hills Masque Hair and Scalp Intensive Treatment through my scalp and lengths, then let it sit while I finish the rest of the shower. This is the step that makes the routine feel most like an at-home salon appointment.

Step 2: I Cleanse From Face to Body

I keep the cleansing step simple: face cleanser, body wash, then deodorant after.

I keep the cleansing step gentle and straightforward. I use The INKEY List Hydrating Cream-to-Milk Cleanser for my face and Lush Sticky Dates Shower Gel for my body. Once I am completely dry, I finish with my Salt & Stone deodorant.

The biggest change in my routine is that I no longer stack every exfoliant I own. If I use a scrub, I skip a strong acid body wash that night. My skin looks better when I am consistent and gentle—not when I try to do everything at once.

Step 3: I Exfoliate, Moisturize, and Massage

L’Occitane body scrub, body cream and gua sha set for an everything shower
A scrub, rich cream and body gua sha turn the routine into a true at-home treatment.

For my body-care treatment, I use the L’Occitane Artichaut Body Scrub with a light hand. After the shower, while my skin is still slightly damp, I follow with the matching body cream.

If I have a few extra minutes, I use the body gua sha over the cream. I am not trying to turn this into a complicated wellness project—it simply feels relaxing and helps the moisturizer spread evenly.

Step 4: I Finish My Face Routine With Hydration

Lauren’s cleanser, toner, essence, serum, moisturizer and barrier balm lineup
My real post-shower face lineup focuses on hydration and barrier support.

My post-shower face routine is all about hydration and barrier support. I cleanse with the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser, then layer the Coats Gentle Hydrating Toning Milk, 111SKIN Celestial Black Diamond Brightening Essence, and Youth To The People Triple Peptide + Cactus Oasis Serum.

I seal everything in with my skinbetter science moisturizer, then use La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Balm B5 anywhere my skin feels dry or irritated. I would rather have calm, comfortable skin than chase an aggressive “glow.”

Step 5: I Hydrate and Let the Routine End

Calm and restore sparkling water beside a reusable water bottle
The final step is hydrating, slowing down and letting the ritual do its job.

The final step is genuinely just slowing down. I fill my reusable bottle with water, sometimes grab a calm + restore sparkling water, put on clean pajamas, and let myself be done for the night.

That is the version of the Everything Shower I can actually repeat: a calm bathroom, intentional hair care, gentle cleansing, one body treatment, hydrating skincare, and a little recovery time afterward. It still feels luxurious, but it also feels real.
