June Recap: The Top Fitness Trends and Fads That Took Over This Month

If there is one thing I’ve learned about fitness over the last few years, it’s that the “no pain, no gain” mentality is officially dead. June 2026 proved that the fitness industry is moving in a completely different direction, and honestly, I am so here for it.

This month, the biggest trends weren’t about pushing yourself to the point of exhaustion. Instead, the focus shifted entirely to longevity, recovery, and making movement actually feel good. I’ve been testing out the most viral fitness trends that took over my feed this month, and here is my honest recap of what’s actually worth your time.

1. “Cozy Cardio” and The Walking Pad Obsession

The “Hot Girl Walk” has officially evolved into “Cozy Cardio.” This trend is all about getting your steps in without the pressure of a high-intensity workout. Think: walking on a treadmill pad in your living room while wearing your softest sweatpants, sipping an iced coffee, and watching your favorite show.

It completely removes the barrier to entry for working out. On days when I don’t have the energy for a full gym session, I just pull out my Under-Desk Walking Pad, throw on a podcast, and walk for 45 minutes. It feels like self-care rather than a chore, and it’s been the easiest way to hit my 10k steps every single day.

2. The Pilates-to-Strength Pipeline

For the last two years, Reformer Pilates was the only workout anyone talked about. But in June, we saw a massive shift: women are taking the core strength and mobility they built in Pilates and bringing it to the weight room. The “Pilates-to-Strength Pipeline” is real.

We are officially in the era of training for longevity and bone density. Women are lifting heavier weights than ever before, but doing it with the mindful, controlled form they learned in Pilates. If you’re intimidated by the weight room, I highly recommend starting at home with a set of Bala Bangles and some medium-weight dumbbells to build your confidence.

3. Sleep as the Ultimate Fitness Metric

This might be my favorite trend of the entire year. In June, the fitness community collectively decided that sleep is just as important as the workout itself. We are no longer bragging about waking up at 4:30 AM on four hours of sleep to hit the gym. If your recovery score is low, you skip the workout and rest.

Wearable tech has completely changed how we view recovery. I check my sleep score every morning, and it dictates how hard I push myself that day. To optimize my recovery, I’ve started taking my sleep hygiene incredibly seriously—which means using a Silk Sleep Mask and keeping my room freezing cold.

4. “Soft Hiking”

Forget grueling, steep mountain climbs. “Soft hiking” took over TikTok this month. It’s essentially just going for a walk in nature, but taking your time, stopping to look at the scenery, and not worrying about your pace or heart rate. It’s the perfect blend of mental health care and low-impact movement.

It’s so refreshing to see a fitness trend that encourages us to slow down. I’ve been trying to do one “soft hike” every weekend, leaving my phone on Do Not Disturb and just enjoying the fresh air. It’s the perfect reset for the week ahead.
